Nanoparticle synthesis by flame pyrolysis

The Flame Spray Pyrolysis (FSP) Laboratory is committed to synthetizing nanostructured powders with precisely controllable properties such as crystallite size and phase, degree of aggregation and agglomeration, surface area and porosity. FSP-made nanoparticles can include a wide variety of metal oxides (e.g. TiO2, SiO2, Al2O3 and WO3), complex oxides (e.g. YSZ and ITO), noble metals and multicomponent and doped nanoparticles (e.g. alumina or titania supported Pt) that are of interest in a number of emerging applications (e.g. photocatalysis, sensors, batteries and solar cells). The laboratory is equipped with a NPS10 (Tethis S.p.A.) FSP system.
