Cell culture laboratory

The cell maintenance and preparation for experiments can be performed in an in-house cell culture laboratory which is equipped with a CO2 incubator (Galaxy S, RS Biotech), a laminar flow hood (Celbio Jupiter 3), a water purification system (Elix5, Millipore), an inverted microscope Axiovert 40 (Zeiss) with epifluorescence and a HD photo camera (True Chrome HD II, TiEsselab) operated by an ISCapture imaging software, a multilabel plate reader (Victor X4, Perkin Elmer), centrifuges (Eppendorf), an autoclave (Alfa-10-plus, Pbi), a thermostatic bath (Pbi) and oven (G-Therm35), a pH meter (pH212), and fridge/freezer (-20°C). The laboratory has furthermore a confocal microscope (Leica, for details see Confocal Microscopy Laboratory). For the proteomic analyses we are working in close collaboration with the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Gabriella Tedeschi at the Department of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Milan. For primary neuron cell culture and experimentation we cooperate with the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Antonio Malgaroli at the Division of Neuroscience at the Scientific Institute San Raffaele in Milan.
