The ASSIST project aims to develop a new technology to bridge the gap between controlled and fine fluid management and the low-cost miniaturisation of portable biomedical devices, thus paving the way for a new generation of smart and compact fluid valve-based sanitary machines. The proposed technology will be based on the direct integration of strain sensors in valves, based on active polymer nanocomposites.
